Form one line, no pushing

What: Sadamitsu wants to fight.

Where: Hyperion gym


The group who had been using the gym were finally done with their...whatever that was...and now Sadamitsu stood in the middle of the room and waited for his first challenger. He was vaguely aware that going up against multiple opponents in a row might be a bad idea, especially with the caliber of some of the fighters here, but he wasn't worried, only confident and excited.

As usual, Kulon and Junk sat on a bench to the side and Sadamitsu was wearing his newly cleaned and repaired white fighting outfit.

Another block, but this time there was a hesitation in his movements, not sure where to go next. The block had been a bit more awkward than he'd anticipated, leaving him open.

Rather than leave it there for him to get struck he twisted out of the way, attempting to hit Sadamitsu from the side instead.

Sadamitsu took advantage of the opening and swung in again. He wasn't expecting Rin to move in quite the way he did though, and took the hit to his side, sarashi deadening the impact slightly.

A faint smirk of pride showed on Rin's face for a moment, but as arrogant as he could be he knew better than to let it take his concentration away from the fight.

His movements had put him behind Sadamitsu, though, keeping him from attempting another strike.

Sadamitsu felt that Rin was behind him and shifted his stance, spinning around with his sword held out, trying for a hit. The force the bokuto built up in that swing would hurt a lot if it hit.

Rin managed to block it. Barely. With a swing down he kept the bokuto from completely hitting him, but the force was enough to push his own in to his side with a painful jerk.

That was going to hurt later. But at least it was blocked. He shoved back hard, trying to swing up at Sadamitsu.

Sadamitsu pulled away and sidestepped the swing, then swung his sword up and to the side, trying to knock Rin's bokuto out of his hand. At the same time, he stepped forward with a punch aimed at Rin's stomach.

The bokuto went flying, the other connecting with a loud clack noise. It flipped end over end, clattering to the ground a few feet behind Rin.

His head jerked around, but just as quickly came back as he realized there was a fist coming for him. He caught it with one hand, promptly swinging the other up to strike Sadamitsu in the face.

Sadamitsu took the hit on his jaw with clenched teeth and a faint smirk. Meanwhile, his bokuto was swinging back in at the side of Rin's head.

CRACK!

Rin went down. Hard. He hit the mat face down, sprawled out and groaning.

Ty just covered her face as the hit came, knowing Rin wasn't going to be able to duck in time to avoid it.

"... Rin?" she called out after it was over, peeking through her fingers.

"Immakay..." came the slurred response from the floor. Well, at least he was still speaking. Sort of.

"Ya sure?" Sadamitsu asked, squatting down in front of Rin, frowning. He had thought that Rin would be able to dodge that hit.

"... did better'n last time... didn't I?" Rin groaned, flopping over on to his back to stare up at Sadamitsu. He didn't look too put off about it. Holding his own against demons and the like back home was one thing, but going toe to toe with actual trained swordsmen had been his biggest hang up so far. He was getting better. Slowly.

"You sure did."

Sadamitsu grinned down at Rin but didn't move to offer him a hand up; Rin didn't look ready to sit up just yet.

"The more ya fight the better you'll get. That's how it works."

"Yeah... I figure somewhere between all the abuse and shoving my head against her chest, Shura was gettin' at that..." Rin said with a faint smirk. He rubbed at the back of his head, closing his eyes for a minute.

"... guess I should get off the mat so you can get to the other fights."

"Eh, you can stay 'til the next guy shows up if you want," Sadamitsu smirked slightly, then was suddenly hit by something Rin had said. "Wait, she shoved your head against her chest?"

"Yeah. A lot. Threw me in headlocks and dragged me around like that. It was annoying as fuck," Rin scoffed. Didn't help that he kind of hated Shura most of the time. They'd gotten along better after all the crap with his dad, but that didn't stop her from being a hard ass during training and dragging him around still.

Someone else might have pointed out that Rin was lucky to have a woman put his head on her chest. Sadamitsu, on the other hand, tried not to think questionable thoughts about what that would be like. He failed.

"Well, at least you got training?"

Should anyone actually say it, Rin would very angrily point out that it's not nearly as great as most men would imagine it to be.

In fact it was rather painful and difficult to breathe like that.

"Eheh. Yeah. Guess so."

Sadamitsu held out a hand to help Rin up.

"Best way to look at it."
