Who: Layer, PawnChessmon Black, and a couple of surprise guests
What: In which Layer finds out the Digital World can be a dangerous place
When: April 15th, early evening
Where: Neon City

Layer hadn't yet taken the time to really just explore, despite being in the Digital World for a couple of months now. Using some lightpost data she had been given, Layer had taken PawnChessmon with her to check out Neon City. So far she had just been committing the city to memory, taking note of the busiest places and the quieter, more quaint-looking places.

Unfortunately, she had wandered out of the busier, more secure parts of town.

"Miss Layer, perhaps we should turn back and head back to Sanctity?"

"But why? I have yet to see all of Neon City and I don't want to leave until I've seen at least half

Vent smiled and offered her his hand. "Vent. This is my partner, Dracomon... well, when he isn't a Wingdramon, heh."

Layer smiled back and reached out to take his hand, "My name is Layer, and this is PawnChessmon."

She looked down at his armor, smiling slipping into a confused frown, "You have similar armor to a colleague of mine. That's why I mistook you for him."

"... That's kind of a long story," Vent replied. "But this isn't the best place to tell it. Would you like to come to headquarters with me?"

"Headquarters? Of what organization?"

Vent blinked, and then laughed nervously.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I never said. DATS... I'm head of the Neon Branch office."

"DATS? Is that a law enforcement agency for this place?"
