Who: Fifi, Shu, Meg, Partners?
What: Their love will bring the world crashing down
When: Feb 15th, evening
Where: Poyi Mountains

Heavy.

The first thought that slid through Fifi's mind as it surfaced from the swirling darkness was that she felt very heavy. She had sunk into something because it was clinging to her skin and clothes.

She was cold...and her face twitched as a drop of water fell onto her cheek cold and hard enough to feel like a pebble that exploded upon contact.

Another, and then another. Little pips of rock hard water peppering her face until her eyes snapped open.

Her mind clawed through the fog desperately as she closed her eyes again to protect from the abrasive water. Her first thought was to be grateful she wasn't as wicked a witch as the one from Oz or she'd be melting a horrible death right now.

Death...

That word brought her memories back in a tidal wave that crashed into her and would have knocked her off her feet if she wasn't already laying on her back. The fight, the panic. A sacrifice, pain and then numbness and then more pain. People...Meg and Shu screaming...

Her eyes snapped open again and dry lips parted to whisper "Shu."

A shot of adrenaline hit her heart and lit up her body like she'd been struck my lightning. She sat up sharply her body making a wet sucking noise as the suction of the mud tried to keep her down. Her eyes wildly scanning the area as the rain continued to pitter patter down irregularly.

She saw...trees. Too may trees too closely together to see for any great distance. A trench had appeared in the mud where she had been laying, sinking and now it was filling up with rainwater.

She felt a sharp pain in her stomach and doubled over arms wrapped around herself shuddering at the sharpness of it. A cold sweat broke out on her supple tender skin and was quickly mingled with the unforgiving rain.

"Shu." She whimpered tears squeezing out from her closed eyes. "Shuuuuuuu!" the second one sounded like a whine. Her eyes opened again and she gulped in some crisp air.

Her powers were at an all time low. She was practically mortal and it was more then she could stand. So she shoved those thoughts aside and took stock of the area. Trees, rocks...and an egg.

Her eyes settled on the egg instinctively knowing who's it was. She had no regret for her minion. Only disappointment that he wouldn't be of use to her in this new situation. Maybe he would be more agreeable in his next life.

A rumbling thunder warned that to remain out in the open was a fools plan and begrudgingly Fifi began to shift her body out of the mud and to her knees. The her hands and knees, then slowly, wobbly and weak to her feet. It was like watching a newborn deer try to stand.

"Your concern for my wellfare is certainly new, considering your abandonment of me on the battlefield and your abduction of my possession." Shu practically hissed at Meg.

"Would you rather your 'possession' - never mind the problems with referring to her as such - be dead?"

Surprisingly, for as testy as Megaera was getting, she kept her tone relatively even here.

"Are you saying I would be incapable of defending my own things?"

"In the middle of something like that - should you have to? Never mind my issues with your referring to her as such - the most practical choice I could make, with what I knew at that time, was to ensure you did not have to worry about her."

“That’s a total fabrication! How could I-“ She suddenly bit her tongue and looked down at Fifi with what could only be described as contempt before facing Megaera again, practically forcing the words from her mouth.

“How could I not be concerned? Whilst she’s on the verge of death you use magic more powerful than yourselves. Then you take her away before I’m aware of the outcome, unaware if she’s even alive let alone your location. How is that productive for me during a battle? How does that ensure my mind will be calmed and without worry? Or are you just a simpleton?”

Fifi (Who had till this point remained silent broken only by the occasional whimper and tremble actually seemed soothed by this argument. She blinked away tears and turned on Meg. "Meg did not consult Fifi either on if she wanted to leave her Shu's side."

Turning back to Shu with a softer, submissive voice, "Fifi loves her Shu, and would never do anything to upset Shu on purpose." Hanging her head and assuming a surprisingly traditional bow on her knees a shiver of regret passed through her. "Fifi is sorry that she worried Shu. And that she is so...emotional right now." She choked back a sob as the feelings of inadequacy and weakness began to creep in again. She felt tiny. Like a bug in mud. Unworthy of her Shu.

At least the walls didn't feel like they were choking her anymore.

Megaera paused.

"... I will accept fault for failure to signal you before making my exit. But not for the choice to make the exit itself. Nor for not allowing Tiffany to make what would assuredly have been a suicidal choice."

"I could have taken care of it."

"I'm not entirely sure of that. One lucky strike took Tiffany out - through all her barriers."

"Are you calling me incapable?"

"One moment of bad luck is all it takes. Fifi's injuries are proof of that."

"That doesn't justify you taking her from me without warning or any information!"

"... Perhaps not. But it at does explain it, I believe. Sometimes, that's all you get."

With that, Megaera looked towards Fifi. "For now, we need to get both of you to rest. Tomorrow, I'll be able to use some fresh spells to get us to a lamppost."

Shuensha made an irritated noise and scowled, looking away. "I would tell you to do as you please but what would be the point?"

"I'm trying to think for your safety, too, you know."

Megaera continued to prepare the improvised camp. "Right now, that means that you need to rest. Unless there's further arguing to be had, I'd encourage both of you-" - she looked at Fifi - "- to remove anything that's wet and come to bed."

Fifi looked away and even without their emotional link her emotionns clearly read stop looking at me! I'm on Shu's side!

"Apologize to Shu." She mumbled trying to get a grasp on her emotions. When she turned back to Meg she was glaring "B-beg Shu for forgiveness!" So much for trying to help her.

Megaera responded, simply, but firmly. "No. Especially not the second. I did what I viewed as right given the information I had at the time."

Shaking with a mix of rage and being overwhelmed by the situation Fifi responded in a completely reasonable manner. A solid backhand to Meg's face.

"Stupid...stupid redheaded witch! Forcing your way into our lives! Upsetting Fifi's Shu! Fifi wishes she could just Holy magic you away forever!" She hissed echoing in the cave.

Fifi's sudden strike was not expected, and forced Megaera back a firm step.

However, she did not say a single word in further response. Not yet. Instead, she simply glared at Fifi.

And Fifi glared back, my wasn't this productive?

"You are not our lover, nor our parent. The only reason you're even connected to us is that stupid spell!" Harsh barbed words when not more then a few hours ago Fifi had forced herself to get along and work together with Meg at Shu's command.

"Enough!"

Shuensha suddenly stood up, despite still being soaked to the bones and shaking likes a leaf, but her gaze was as strong as ever.

"Megaera, do as you like, but don't ever make demands of me."

She eyes snapped to Fifi.

"You do as your told, I'll speak to you when I feel it necessary."

Megaera paused, looking towards Shuensha, then Fifi.

"... Hrmph."

With that... She started to walk towards the mouth of the cave.

Fifi looked as though she too had been slapped, but she wilted. Her anger evaporated along with her energy ad she began to peel off her remain wet clothes to do as Shu said, which was to do as Megaera had said.

But despite being undercut Fifi couldn't help but feel a tingle of hope, that Shu's words meant they would be speaking about it all later. She wasn't to be banished away from her beloved.

Shu gave the nude Fifi a small kick and nodded her head in the direction of Megaera. "Stop her."

Then she called out to Megarea. "If you've made a plan don't walk away from it."

"..."

Megaera looked towards Shuensha. "I don't know why I bother. I try to help, and do not receive appreciation for it in the slightest. Only the link kept me so blind so long."
