Who: Folks in this thread, Virus Busters, Dark Area citizens, others
What: Rescuing Dark Area citizens from the hands of the Virus Busters.
When: A few days after Ivan's post here. Let us say around June 10th. Regardless, backdated.
Where: Dark Area, near its border to the Poyi Mountains

Lightly occupied was something of a relative term, really. For those approaching the occupied villages, they would find them pretty well fortified and surrounded by Virus Buster forces. Among them were, as would be expected, many knight-like Digimon in their numbers, as well as various sorts of assorted holy types.

Their security was strong.

Their formations were tight.

More than anything else, though...

They knew to expect company.

[STOP! The rescue team has made its first move! The Virus Busters' response is now!]

Two V-dramon went down to Death-XDORUgamon, and another found Mushamon's sword in its back. They went down rather easily, but a few minutes later, when none of them checked in, it quickly became apparent something was wrong.

"There are hostiles in the area!" barked the acting commander, a XV-mon. "Tighten formation! No one is getting close to these monsters without us knowing about it!"

In response, the Virus Busters quickly gathered more tightly around the Dark Area prisoners. One could say they themselves were corralled, but at the same time, they appeared prepared for any kind of threat that might appear before them. In a shimmering of light, the XV-mon suddenly evolved into a Paildramon, quickly scouting any potential sniping positions from the rooftops. It seemed they were ready for anything.

[GO! The Virus Busters are aware something is amiss and are bracing for any kind of assault.

In this case, please allow Yukio to issue orders before posting a response.]

Yukio took cover quickly and activated the link through his D-Comm again. "Alright, the situation has changed. They are hunkering down around the enemy. Time for stronger measures. Engage in ranged battle and pick off their numbers. Those of you who are melee fighters; wait until we draw their fire in a single direction and flank them. Ranged fighters, come to my position in the south. Move."

Yukio released the link again and looked down at his Partner. "Ready for this?" Lunamon nodded and gave his Tamer a smile. "I am as ready as you are." The Exorcist nodded and made his move. His gun was surrounded with blue digisoul and he came out of cover, unleashing a squall of digisoul covered bullets at the tight digimon formation and took cover once again.

"And if I'm both?" Zero asked quietly, but didn't expect a response. Pausing behind a building, he flipped off Ginryuumon's back. A flash from his Digivice and his partner a moment later, and the Digimon shrunk down into his child form.

Ryuudamon darted off like a bolt, moving to flank the Virus Busters from the far side of where Zero now stood, hunkered down behind his cover. If their attention could be drawn, he could do a lot of damage just from a two-pronged attack between him and Ouryuumon alone.

There wasn't much Nia could do. She jumped on her partner's back, who flew as fast as he could to join Yukio in attacking from his position.

Arrow continued moving incognito to the rest of the digimon. Closer and closer to the lockup. Oh how she itched to hear screams of pain and suffering. To sink her spines into someone's flesh.

"Melee? That'd be us, Kote."

Musyamon nodded, rushing over and lifting his partner onto his shoulder before rushing off to join the fearless team leader.

The Virus Busters were actually taken by surprise as Yukio opened fire on them. For a quarter of a minute, they were in disarray as they scrambled to find the source of the fire.

Then, they quickly recovered their senses, and that flank began opening fire, sending V-Breath Arrows and Holy Knuckle attacks screaming towards Yukio's position. Up top, Paildramon noticed Faith and Nia's approaches, and opened fire with his Desperado Blasters, firing on each of their positions separately in an attempt to cut them off.

As of now, they seemed to be completely unaware of Arrow's infiltration.

[GO! The Virus Busters have been engaged, and now they're returning the offensive! Anyone can go in this round, no need to wait for anyone.]

Yukio took cover quickly behind his shelter and felt the attacks pummel the building he was hiding behind. He started to move behind the building to the other side before he opened fire from that side, aiming to hit the digimon in the head with digisoul covered bullets.

The doctor had remained hidden during the first strikes. Once the enemy digimon began to fire he peeked out from his hiding place and decided to preform an experiment. He opened a Warp Ring under an XV-mon while the other remained in his hand. He covered it with black digisoul in a flash and as the dragon fell through he closed it quickly around his knees, aiming to cut off the digimon's legs.

Zero did not wait for a call. They were focused on the ranged fighters. That was enough. He focused his golden Digi-Soul until it shone white, and slammed it into his Digivice.

There was a flash and a roar on the other side of the Virus Busters as Ouryuumon rose up, lunging towards them from the side and slashing furiously. Zero followed up on his end, dashing out from behind his cover, Digi-Soul lancing down his Z-Saber as he jumped up and slashed out, sending a massive powered wave into their opposite flank.

Nia let out a scream as blaster fire rained down on her and her partner, the latter visibly devolving back into DORUmon as they were hit with fire from above...

... only for a more massive undead dragon to emerge from the resulting cloud of debris moments later, snarling angrily as he flew at Paildramon, intent on swinging the massive sphere at the end of his tail at the Dragon Man digimon once they were close enough.

Stalking through the area in disguise Arrow felt her toes curl with delight. Any moment now the perfect target would present itself.

And of course the hostages. That was her real purpose here wasn't it? An idea struck her.

Back to a wall senses sharp she made sure no one was watching and allowed a few spiders to skitter off of her body down her legs and along the walls spreading out to find her target. Their link would inform her of all they saw and heard. It took practice to get used to the sensory overload and still be able to move on her own. She took to moving again acting as though she were just as tense at the attack as the others.

The appearance of two Ultimates did nothing to alleviate the sense of surprise overtaking the Virus Buster forces. Paildramon was barely able to avoid being hit by Death-X DORUGhoramon's tail, and was sent crashing to the ground by the sheer force of the swing.

The ones being targeted by OuRyuumon and Zero weren't so lucky. On the two opposite flanks, the Virus Busters' ranks practically exploded into Digi-Eggs and limp, unconscious bodies; victims like Finitevus' XV-mon barely had a chance to react before becoming a Digi-egg, so distracted were they by the chaos that had erupted in their ranks.

In a matter of moments, the Virus Busters' entire guard had been shaken and torn apart. However, this didn't mean that the Dark Area prisoners were any better off... they too screamed at the sight of the Ultimates, so shaken by everything that had happened... all of them were certain that their end had finally come.

"All units, the hostages are within sight but frightened. Those with evolved partners focus your power on targeting the Virus Buster Ranks. Don't allow them to regroup. We want to show them we're here to help." Yukio reloaded his guns before he came out of his hiding place and headed for the group of digimon. Lunamon followed close behind him and watched to make sure his tamer wasn't going to be flanked. He needed to get to the prisoners and try to calm them down.

"Dark Area Residence! Remain calm! This is an evacuation of your village. Follow me and I will lead you to safety!"

Arrow appeared at Yukio's side still in disguise calling out orders as well "Let's move! Stick close together! Anyone who's too weak to move on their own call out for help!" She was in a no-nonsense mood and from her back Dokunemon crawled out appearing to have slid out from under her armor. If they needed he could evolve for support, but he hoped he wouldn't have to. He wasn't that experienced at fighting.

Meanwhile, Death-X DORUGhoramon continued to attack, trying to drive as many of the Virus Buster soldiers away as possible and keep them separated from those trying to get the Dark Area soldiers away to safety.
