Who: Noir, Gaia, partners
What: A fresh start, a long awaited reunion
When: Feb 15th, mid afternoon
Where: D'ango Forest

The world had been falling apart.

Chaos, panic, the ground was shaking, and that was all completely dull and normal to Noir, because Gaia was back!

Only now as he was laying on his back staring up at the leaves in the trees did he realize how many months he had been missing her. It had been tragic, pathetic, absolutely wimpy for a hard core scruffy detective.

Scruffy...that was an understatement. He had a scraggly beard from not shaving and he had been indulging in junk food to the point where his muscles had gotten soft. He was ashamed.

And sore...much more sore then he remembered being. Had he fallen again? Oh yes! He had been running with Gaia one minute and then the next he was crashing through a tree face first.

"Just once...once I would like to land on my feet like Jinx." He mumbled.

Just her words were enough to send a rush of excitement to some embarrassing regions. He did his best to remain calm, but every animal instinct and fiber of his red blooded American male being wanted to see just how much they could get away with before they were interrupted.

But he had one solid grip on his urges and that was to let her lead. Years of strong brave women, smarter then him calling the shots had conditioned him in this way. Still that didn't mean he wouldn't try. He kissed down her neck with his rough solid lips, his scruffy beardlike growth brushing her cheek, jawline and neck as he worked his way down with each kiss. Little things like shaving, and changing his clothes every day had fallen by the wayside in the past few months.

She'll have to clean him up. Again. She's done this already, so it shouldn't be that hard. She knows who she is this time, which is a step up. She can put him back together again, she really can. A giggle escapes her lips as he kisses her neck, her eyes closing and her very lips curling up in pleasure.

And like how he wanted some control, she wouldn't just sit back and let him take it. Her mouth happens to be right next to his ear, which she proceeds to nibble on lightly, alternating between biting and sucking, her fingers dancing over his neck--

Except the Digital World hates them.

"Oh, there you are, Gai-- NWWAAAAA!" Suzaku comes flying out of the trees, Pico behind him, and he promptly crashes into a tree, covering his eyes with his wings. "NO, NO, NO AUUUUGH MY EYES!"

Pico fell to the ground as well bouncing and rolling, wings wrapped around herself laughing hysterically.

"Oh that's just brutal! Stop, stop now it hurrrrts!" she cried between giggles.

Noir flipped her off and continued his affection to Gaia's neck, shivering visibly as she teased his ear and returning the favor with a light nip to her neck.

A laugh bubbles up, not just because of the nip, but because of Suzaku's reaction. "Mmmm." A noise of pure joy. "C'mon, we can't traumatize him," she whispers, blowing a bit of hot air into his ear to emphasize.

Suzaku remains on the ground, covering his face. "OH, EW, NO, SHE'S LIKE MY MOM, PARENT PORN, PARENT PORN!"

The ear seemed to be a weak spot for him as another shudder and a sheepish chuckle "Alright alright, but he's lucky I'm such a nice guy." He didn't pull away from her just yet though. They weren't in any sort of hurry anymore. After all if they'd been thrown from Tetha either the battle was over, or by the time they got back up there it would be.

Pico staggered to her talons and sighed, "Oh that was perfect. I needed that." She grinned, "The perfect way to fight off the depression of no longer being a super sexy super strong evolved form with a kickass leather jacket."

Gaia remained in his arms, a lovesick smile -- droopy and drunk -- slipping on as she pulls back and just stares at Noir. "Yeah, you're a regular saint."

Suzaku pokes up his head with a grumble. "You what? Man, I didn't even get to fight. Spent the whole thing under a tree and then--" He slaps his wing to his face. "Oh, man, am I a moron! No, you two lovebirds, snap out of it, I was with your daughter and the little flower!" Little flower seems to be his favorite nickname for Lily.

At this, Gaia turns her upper half, stunned. "Yu?"

"That makes sense." Noir nodded much less stuned by this. "Lily and Yu are nearly inseparable. If there was a big emergency and she knew Jinx would be out of town, Yu would go looking to protect Lily." It made Noir smile to think of how close the girls were. It reminded him alot of his relationship with his own sister.

"We better start looking for a lightpost." He relented surrendering the moment he had been clinging too, but still not letting go of Gaia's hand. It was like a constant reminder that his luck had finally turned around. He was in love all over again.

Hand into his coat pocket he pulled out a new device and studied it curiously. "Looks like we got an upgrade."

He's right; no D-Reader, something like a phone that she assumes is like the D-Comm, and a device that, upon closer inspection, should look like what fuels evolution.

Gaia's mind is still stuck on her daughter. "If we fell somewhere else than Tetha for some reason, maybe she did as well? Shouldn't we check in with her?"

"Noir was fiddling with his device as well tapping the buttons looking through the features. "You go ahead, she'll be thrilled to hear from you. It'll be more fun that way." He grinned at the thought of Yu's bright and sunshine smile. "Besides Terra and Beastboy will wanna hear from you, and you can introduce yourself to the newcomers."

"I think I've figured out which way the lightpost is from here.

A little laugh slips out of Gaia's mouth. "Isn't that weird?" She asks, swooping over to Suzaku as she speaks and sweeping him up into her arms, his soft protests ignored. "Newcomer includes anyone who's been here for over a year on. I'll be more like a newcomer than them. Asking all the questions people should be asking me." She laughs again, spinning Suzaku around, her new modeled D-Comm clinking in her pocket.

She stops, long hair swaying just a bit after she does. It's never been this long; maybe she likes it. "Which way, hotshot?"

Noir's cheeks flushed again, caught looking at her again admiring her long hair. "Uh..." He had to double check the screen again and turned around once before pointing in a direction and waiting so they could set off together with Pico fluttering along behind them.

Suzaku has, by this point, pulled himself out of Gaia's arms, and she trails after Noir, bumping against him deliberately. "So," she starts with a twitching smirk. "You think I should keep the hair or cut it?"

"I-I uh..." He mumbled face lighting up and finding himself unable to look directly at her right away. "Well, I think they both work on you." And he wasn't pandering . Between the various physical stages of her life, and even when he had seen the version of her that was all grown up Noir had come to a conclusion that she looked great no matter what she was doing with her hair.

Pico chuckled cruelly at his loss of ability to speak clearly and lit on his head. "Tongue tied?" She teased and he tried to swat at her while she dodged away.

"I could tie it a bit more," she starts, reaching a hand to his tie before Suzaku squawks loudly.

"Please. Please don't do it again."

Gaia just rolls her eyes.

Noir grinned a dopey lovesick grin, "Enjoy our kindness now featherface. When we get back home no one's gonna tell me I can't catch up with the girl I- the girl I love." He stumbled on the words having gone so long without saying them.

Pico to her credit only cooed an "Awwww" instead of laughing this time.

Usually, Gaia's all snark and tease, and on other days she might elbow him or make some witty comment courtesy of years of experience.

Today, however, she finds herself equally tongue tied, in a way, a blushing schoolgirl side from her first life taking point. "Heh... Ditto. Can't stop the love." She clears her throat and starts to tinker with her D-Comm, proclaiming, "Let's see if we can call Yu..."

It's Suzaku's turn to roll his eyes, though good-naturedly. "Aw, jeez..."

Noir listened in silence with sheepish grins and amused chuckles as Gaia let their daughter from the future know she was unfrozen and free. The way her eyes lit up as she heard Yu's voice kindled another flame of warmth in his chest.

Pico lit on his shoulder and whispered wickedly, "You're staaaring~" causing him to sharply tilt his head up to watch the trees. "I don't think you've smiled this much in months~"

Noir had no answer for her, he didn't need one. They both knew that in his heart he would never stop worrying that this walk with Gaia might be his last for months, years.

Forever?

He had lost her too many times to ever really believe that while he was in this world they could be together forever. But in this moment, and every moment that followed he planned to savor her every word and action.

"She's glad for this too," Suzaku pipes up softly. He's closer to the two of them than Gaia. "All my years I've known her... You really do make her the happiest."

That made Noir's face light up more and he waved them both off not wanting to have his brain completely shut off with embarrassment. "Of course she's happy, I make her happy."

Suzaku laughs, light and airy as he circles Noir, upside-down as he flaps his wings. "Oh dear. Looks like we broke him."

Noir growled and shook a fist at them still red in the face...well darker grey.

"Sidekicks should be seen and not heard!" He shot back only half serious as he altered his pace so he was closer to Gaia again.

While Suzaku's laughing with Pico, Gaia slips the D-Comm into her pocket. "Got it. Yu's gonna meet us at the lightpost."

A thinly veiled excitement dances about her, like electricity.

"Bet it seems like just yesterday you were seeing her every morning." Noir noted with amusement moving closer and daringly taking her hand while they walked.

"It really does," she admits, snatching up his hand after but a second of staring at it. "I'll never get used to data freezes. One second you're awake, the next..."
